So we've had a rough week with whatever this stomach bug is that keeps hanging on. I tried to go to yoga and twist and stretch myself back to good health but that didn't work. Couldn't even attempt to try to run it off. So after having just some toast again last night for dinner and waking up still not well, I decided it was time to go visit our local medical clinic. I called this morning and got an appointment for this afternoon. I saw the doctor shortly after 2 and he asked me a series of questions I won't get into, looked in my throat, took my blood pressure and prescribed me some antibiotics. I then walked next door, got the prescriptions filled and was on my way home again. Three prescriptions and a doctors consultation for about $7. Not bad.
So while I waited for my appointment, I made a few calls. Since I'm no longer in marketing, I need to find something besides shopping and lunching to fulfill my days so I spoke to a woman who works for an organization that sponsors and funds "slum schools" in urban India. I'm going to go visit next week and figure out how I can help out. The website is quite extensive and hopefully there will be more hands-on work there than there seems to be with the village women.
I also called about golf lessons. I'm going to start on Monday or Tuesday with my instructor Gaurav, not to be confused with Guava. He had to check when the driving range would be opened and is getting back to me this evening.
Oh, and I just saw Karen's kids get a camel ride down the street.

Sometimes there just happens to be a camel walking down the street willing to take little kids (or adults) for a ride. Now if that doesn't tempt you to come to India...
Other than that have been lying low today.

Poor, sick Auntie Kak. It sounds awful, but maybe a camel ride would be the ticket.
Be careful with the meds they can upset the stomach all on their own.
